This quintet from Barcelona has a wide repertoire: Boogie from the 30’s, Swing from the 40’s and Rhythm & Blues from the 50’s. But they can also boast of collaborating for some years now with the great British saxophonist and singer Drew Davies.

For more than a decade, Wax & Boogie has been able to capture the true spirit of traditional Afro-American music in an exceptional way, although transformed into its own expressive code.

A powerful and charismatic singer, impeccable Blues & Boogie piano, a strident rhythmic base and a fiery saxophone: what more could this brilliant line-up that ignites audiences and audiences every time they appear do?

The Wax & Boogie and Drew Davies combo was selected by the discerning audience of the prestigious Ascona International Jazz Festival 2019 in Switzerland as the second best line-up out of more than 50 bands from all over the world.

They are currently presenting their fifth album, “Make up your mind”, recorded at Jump Start Studios in Paris.
