Tia Carroll

After many years of a little-recognised musical career, Tia Carroll (Richmond, California. 1958) has earned her status as one of the great divas of today’s blues.

Throughout her extensive career she has toured with legends such as Jimmy McCracklin, Sugar Pie DeSanto, E.C. Scott, Ray Charles, B.B. King and Patti LaBelle.

With a powerful and passionate style inspired by that of greats such as Koko Taylor, Aretha Franklin and Tina Turner, the Californian artist is a regular at major festivals and one of the most sought-after artists on the West Coast circuit.

Her latest album “You gotta have it” (2021) has been nominated for Best Blues Album at the prestigious BMAs in Memphis and at the Blast Music Awards 2021, in the Soul Blues Album category. She will be accompanied by a top international quartet made up of Quique Gómez (harmonica, vocals), Curro Serrano (guitar), David Salvador (bass) and Guillaume Destarac (drums). With her high school blues, Tia Carroll is destined to shine at the Bilbao Blues Festival.
