Creole authenticity. Masters of Zydeco Music.

Terrance Simien & Zydeco Experience are among the brightest and most globally recognised representatives of Zydeco music, the traditional roots genre of Louisiana’s black and multi-racial French-speaking Creoles.

This multi-generational, multi-cultural, two-time Grammy-winning band is a true institution in this style and its legendary leader has a musical career spanning more than 40 years. True to their deep Creole roots, Simien embodies authenticity as they continue to redefine their genre and elevate their visibility. Their hypnotic zydeco- roots-reggae-folk-soul-gospel and New Orleans jazz beats invite you to dance and move freely.

They have recorded with Paul Simon, Art Neville, Dennis Quaid, The Meters, Marcia Ball and Dr. John, and have toured with Los Lobos, Robert Palmer, Dave Matthews Band and even shared the stage with Stevie Wonder. Their music has appeared in Disney films such as ‘The Princess and the Frog’, which featured a black princess for the first time.

The main instruments of this type of music are the accordion and the frottoir (zydeco rubboard) driven by African and Caribbean rhythms and, in the case of this group, with extraordinary vocals and harmonies. The group consists of Terrance Simien, (accordion, vocals) Danny Williams (keyboards, vocals), Stan Chambers (bass, vocals), Ian Molinaro-Thompson (drums) and two horns, Michael Christie (trumpet) and Noah Boshra (saxophone).
