Magnetism from the United Kingdom
British blues vocalist, composer and guitarist Ian Siegal (born in 1971 in Portsmouth, United Kingdom) promises a superlative show on stage at the Bilbao Blues Festival with his electric band. His strength is undoubtedly his live performances, with a stage presence that exudes passion, sweat and lots of energy.
Ian Siegal essentially starts from the blues, but also masterfully veers into more rock, country or folk territory; without going any further, his main idols include such disparate artists as Muddy Waters, Townes Van Zandt, Elvis Presley and Tom Waits.
The British magazine Classic Rock describes him as ‘a national treasure’, and the prestigious magazine MOJO considers him ‘the most intelligent songwriter and most magnetic blues performer in the United Kingdom’. His main awards include two UK Blues Awards, eight British Blues Awards, four European Blues Awards and three nominations for the USA Blues Music Awards.
