V BILBAO BLUES FESTIVAL AWARD 2026
TRAVELLIN´ BROTHERS: a triumphant return
To speak of the Travellin‘ Brothers is to refer to one of the most solid and respected bands on the European blues scene. With more than 20 years of experience, over 1,300 concerts and numerous international tours under their belt, the band from Vizcaya, who already accompanied us in the first edition of the contest, returns to delight us with their extraordinary cocktail of blues, funk, swing, jazz, soul and rhythm & blues.
It will be a very special return, as they will receive the txapela that accredits them as the 5th Bilbao Blues Festival Award winners. TB follow in the footsteps of the legendary Bob Stroger, Rick Estrin, Kim Wilson and Jimmy Vaughan, who were recognised in previous editions.
This award adds to other prestigious international accolades they have also received, such as the 2015 European Blues Challenge for best European band and their classification as finalists (8 best bands in the world) in the 2015 International Blues Challenge in Memphis.
To close out 2025, TB has toured the United States with great success and will maintain a busy concert schedule this year, coinciding with the release of their eleventh album, Back in Business, a very special album recorded in big band format.
Ahead of the 5th Bilbao Blues Festival, they guarantee a show full of pure energy and maximum connection with the audience, combining their own songs with classic covers that bear their hallmark, to which they add their own unique style.
The Travellin’ Brothers are made up of Jon Careaga (lead vocals), Aitor Cañibano (guitar and backing vocals), Eneko Cañibano (bass), Isi Redondo (percussion/drums), Alain Sancho (saxophone and backing vocals) and Mikel Azpiroz (keyboard), a line-up that has remained unchanged since the band’s inception.
